Explore the past, present and future of New York City when you view the exhibitions hosted at the Museum of the City of New York.

The museum uses multimedia installations to showcase the history of NYC and the people that call it home. When you visit the museum you will get a chance to see some of their huge collection that consists of over 1.5 million items. This includes many objects from the 19th and 20th centuries.
You'll see a multitude of collections that give great insight to what it means to be from New York including the Timelapses exhibition that aims to show you all of the Big Apple. 


In this award-winning permanent exhibition at the Museum of the City of New York, you'll see a 28 minute documentary that aims to showcase the evolution of New York City and New Yorkers all together. The museum will also show the documentary every 40 minutes from 10:20am until 5pm.

Did You Know

For the early birds who make it to the museum between 10am and 11am, the museum will serve a free New York Breakfast which consists of coffee and bagels.
