Visit the world's first museum for kids and share a special experience with your family at the Brooklyn Children's Museum.

Founded in 1899, the musem is widely regarded as the first ever museum to cater specifically to children. You'll encounter many interactive exhibits that the kids are sure to love. The museum is also a great space for children to make new friends and learn while engaging with eachother. Throughout the year, there are temporary exhibits being introduced to visitors as well as a list of permanent exhibits that are extremely popular among the kids that come to BCM.

Highlights

Sensory Room
Children get a first hand introduction to all of their senses when they enter the Sensory Room at the Brooklyn Children's Museum. With built-in displays and group stories, a BCM educator teaches visiting children about their senses and what triggers each of them.

Totally Tots
You're never too small to play at BCM. Totally Tots is an art studio exclusively for children ages zero to 5. Kids engage in activities to highten their senses using elements such as sand, water, and blocks. They also gain a sense of fashion playing games like "dress-up".

World Brooklyn
The leaders of tomorrow take over today's world in BCM's 'World Brooklyn' exhibit. Children become business owners and step into key roles in society as they learn to work together as a functioning community. Many of the common business leaders you come in contact with in Brooklyn are on display as kids become designers, shop owners and bakers.

Visiting Exhibits
In addition to the Brooklyn Children's Museum's permanent exhibitions and displays, they also introduce new exhibits with temporary residence inside of the museum. Each exhibit comes with fun, new ways for the children to learn and play.
