About LuminoCity Festival

LuminoCity Festival is a multimedia entertainment company that transforms historical and contemporary stories into multidimensional experiences. The production draws inspiration from the Western Han Dynasty, and lantern festivals dating back to 200 BCE. At that time, these festivals were a valued tradition used to welcome in the New Year and other significant holidays.

Today the art of lantern-making is still upheld in areas such as Zigong City, which is one of China’s most ancient regions. Incredibly talented lantern artists participate in an annual festival that attracts more than two million people each year, and LuminoCity is a regular contributor. The debut of A Wonderland of Lights aims to bring the two-thousand-year history of Chinese lantern festivals to New York City through a new ‘light’ art form.
