Fraunces Tavern® Museum has played a huge role in the history of the United States. At one point, the museum, which also hosts a restaurant, was used as a headquarters for the first President of the United States, George Washington. President Washington also bade farewell to the continental army from the tavern in 1783.
Today the museum is home to a collection of over 3,000 artifacts from the Revolutionary War and Colonial America... You can also find a lock of George Washington's hair on display. When you visit the Fraunces Tavern® Museum on the weekend, you will have access to free guided tours.

- When built in the year 1719, the Fraunces Tavern® Museum was originally a home for Stephen Delancey who was a wealthy merchant.
