May in New York City
NYC Weather in May
May can be a great time to visit New York City. May can be rainy, but the warmer temperatures make it more comfortable than March. Being in a city full of tall buildings can make the wind feel colder and stronger than normal, so be sure to pack appropriately for the weather.
What to Wear: boots or galoshes - to keep your feet warm and dry
dress in layers - it will typically be warm in stores, subways and attractions, but it is nearly impossible to visit New York City without spending time outside, so you'll want to ensure you're warmly dressed for walking around. Pack an umbrella - you'll be happy to have it when it starts to rain
