The Hispanic Society of America

The Hispanic Society of America was founded in 1904 by Archer M. Huntington (1870-1955) as a free public museum and reference library dedicated to the culture of the Iberian Peninsula and Latin America. The collection spans from the Bronze Age through the present century and includes paintings by El Greco, Velazquez and Goya as well as outstanding examples of sculpture and decorative arts. The library houses thousands of manuscripts and over 250,000 research books.
