35th Avenue at 36th Street, Astoria, NY 11106

The Museum of the Moving Image is the only museum in the United
States devoted to the art history, and craft of motion pictures, television, and digital media. The dynamic core exhibition, Behind the Screen, explains how moving images are made, marketed, and shown. Interactive exhibits invite visitors to make animation, select sound effects, and create flipbooks of themselves, among other activities.
A second interactive exhibition, Digital Play: Reloaded, presents video games and game-based art. Classic arcade games are presented alongside current “arcade-style” games, illustrating both how
much and how little video games have changed in the last 25 years. Screenings of classic and contemporary films are offered every weekend.
