Wintery Treats at MCNY!
Last Updated: Tue 20 Dec 2011

THE MUSEUM OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK is celebrating the holiday season with free, artisanal, made-in-Brooklyn Blue Marble ice cream sandwiches. Given high ratings for their certified organic ice cream by Time Out New York, New York Magazine, The New York Times, Village Voice, and most recently seen on WNBC’s Today show, Blue Marble makes their ice cream sandwiches with chocolate chip and other choices of outside wafer.

Be sure to also check out December's newest features at MCNY:

The Greatest Grid: The Master Plan of Manhattan, 1811-2011 celebrates the 200th anniversary of the Commissioners’ Plan of 1811, the foundational document that established Manhattan’s famous street grid, featuring an original hand-drawn map of New York's planned streets and avenues prepared by the Commission in 1811.

The Unfinished Grid: Design Speculations for Manhattan: Manhattan’s familiar street grid is a work in progress, an evolving creation that began with a bold vision by the city’s commissioners in 1811, but which has been altered and amended by generations of planners, builders, and advocates

Police Work: Photographs by Leonard Freed, 1972-1979 features a selection of vintage prints by the Brooklyn-born photographer who documented "life on the beat" with NYPD officers during the tumultuous 1970s.

Use your New York Pass for free admission to MCNY from December 23 through January 2 to take part in this tasty holiday treat!
