What to Wear: pack an umbrella, you'll be happy to have it when it starts to rain, nothing compares with a good raincoat. Wear light shoes, comfortable for walking and water-resistant if possible. Picnic blanket is great if you want to check out some of the free concerts and movies

What to do in August in NYC
Visit Central Park - Park's growing greenery is great to visit in August, there are many free concerts and movies in August, so pack a blanket and picnic basket and feel like a true New Yorker
Bryant Park Film Festival - Movies are show on a large screen in Bryant Park at dusk on Monday nights from June through August. Access to the grass for blankets and picnicking is available at 5:00 p.m. Bryant Park films begin at sunset, typically between 8 and 9 p.m. If the weather is uncooperative, shows are canceled and will not be rescheduled. Restaurant Week - it returns in July and last until mid August, so enjoy the opportunity to try some of New York City's restaurants at bargain prices
